A summary that leaves a slight sense of relief.

Much needed right about now.

You feel relieved about this? Pretty scary, economically.

Yeah, probably right about that. But Donald has stopped talking about nuking Iran.

And all the points you mentioned means, most likely, that the US empire is finished with its exceptionalism and lawless bullying. And on and on I could rant.

At this point in time I feel positive about China's position and lack of desire for empire. They are focused on continuity. USraeli peeps are totally drunk on Armageddon prophecy and the supposedly imminent "End of the world" which is extremely dangerous delusions for a major nuclear power.

China is the adult in the world/room right about now.

Economic problems and oil shortage might cause a billion people or more to starve to death, and that is obviously a tragedy for those about to die, but the sheer physical demand destruction caused by those deaths will ease the pressure on resources for those who survive.

We added six billion people to this planet since 1950 (approximately). Consciously engineering a plan to return human numbers to about 2-3 billion people is not just beyond any conceivable moral framework. It's a task so large that the cruelty of nature and chance can only mitigate, in relation to our survival as a "moral animal".

Our best intentions have paved this road to hell with food aid programs and white savoir complex as a counter reflex to our time as slavers, occupiers and genocidal expansionists. None of us are individually responsible, but we must all pay the price and suffer the consequences.

That "we" do not press the big red button for the nukes to fly as a way to destroy everything now and avoid the shame and disgrace is a small grace for our great great great grandchildren.

So I am whistling past the graveyard. Thankful.
