It seems like they will never reach a peace deal and the US is fine with dealing with the consequences of a global depression. One thing to also note about all this is how the US stock market is completely ignoring reality, we're told the current global economic order is the most rational and efficient yet it's heading towards explosive collapse with all the people in charge with their heads in the sand. We're truly in for some tough times as the old world order is dying
There is no deal. There will be no deal. The US will eventually leave with Trump noisily blaming everyone and everything but his own idiotic administration for the greatest foreign policy blunder in the nation’s history. The rest of the world will pay the fees — or tolls or whatever you want to call them — in order to access the products they require. Israel will seethe.
Ignore claims by either side. Just watch the number of ships transiting the Strait — that’s all that matters.
It is possible indeed that there will be no deal. This was something we suggested a couple of weeks ago. We argued that such an outcome might lead to discrete, individual deals between Iran and those who need oil and those who rely on selling it.
I wonder if the Asian countries appreciate china’s approach to keeping oil prices low, and why ever they are doing it. Now is the time, it seems to me, for geopolitical plays, not economic ones. I wonder if Russia will close the Europeans spigot. Nothing like a double whammy.
Yes. This is a possible outcome for Europe: the Kremlin using the crisis to squeeze. Already, Europe is considering an end to some of its oil sanctions against Russia.
the Euros are a vassal region that shouldn't even be considered negotiating with at this point. they've proven time again that they ask how high when America says jump, even to their own detriment
"Asia and Europe will be the first to start choking, but some time after, the US will, too." That`s the key notion. Asia is outperforming the US economically since many years shifting the global balance towards this region. The negotiations are a charade. The US will continue delaying until Asia, and above all China, took a significant hit. This is the logic of war: it`s not only about who wins most but also who loses least.
As we have explained on a few previous occasions, China is just not that vulnerable to a cut off. It will be harmed, but only through its export markets being crushed, not through the oil channel itself.
Yes, I don`t question that. But ultimately this war is about inflicting pain on China whether through direct or indirect means. As you pointed out yourself, asian countries are already feeling the pain much more than the US which will drag down China as well. At least more than the US which is the point I`m making.
Where did you get that map? Netanyahu’s office? The IDF is not progressing in South Lebanon, it is Mort definitely not on the Litani, and it isn’t even past Bint Jbiel (which is contested). Might wanna have. Word with that cartographer……🤔
All about oil, but fertilizer (i.e. food) will be as big a deal for much of the world as oil
For sure. The difference is that fertiliser has already happened, in a way. Planting season in the northern hemisphere is over.
But the effects have not really arrived yet, at least not to anyone who isn’t a farmer
